With flood warnings still in effect through mid-week in downtown Missoula, I do believe that, over this past weekend, the 2019 runoff has crested and "it is all downhill" from here on out--and that is fantastic news!
As shown on our flow chart, Rock Creek crested at 4,900 cfs on Saturday and currently is yet briskly flowing at 3,290 cfs and at a now very chilly 41 degrees (reflective of its current snow melt condition). All of this bodes well for our E-19 fishing prospects, as each of the three major rivers that we will be fishing during E-19 (the Clark Fork of the Columbia River, the Bitterroot River and the Big ["A River Runs Through It"] Blackfoot River)--all of which are currently raging--should begin to calm down, clear up and be in fine fishing shape come Opening Day.
Bueno, bueno, bueno!!
