E-19 Flow With a Week To Go!

Hey, Gang, we are getting really, really close now, as in tomorrow your Hostess, Mascot and I do our annual drive to Headquarters to do the final preparation for the arrivals of the Wonderful Ones just eight days hence.

And look at this flow continuing to smoke downriver! Today's flow is maintaining at 2,470 cfs with many of the higher elevation snow water content readings become more and more sporadic, indicative of the continued melt down of this year's snow pack. Water temperature continues to rise, as expected, with current a Rock Creek temp of 49.5 degrees, slowly creeping up into the lower 50's that we strive for. Our Outfitter John "The Great But Propaneless" Gould wrote me last evening that the Bitterroot River is currently fishable, the Blackfoot "is close" and, with the continued higher flow rates, the Clark Fork of the Columbia (into which all the other rivers flow and which is last to clear and warm up} "should be fishable by G3". And that is simply perfect for all three of our groups, as, ideally, we want to be right on the cusp of the rivers clearing up, as it is then that the fish begin looking to the surface for dry flies and "the party is on".

You Ones are now in the batter's box and the time is nigh to double check your Camp List (yet another copy attached for your ready reference) and begin exercising that casting arm for the wonderful adventure that soon awaits you. Twos and Threes, follow forth as well for, before you know it, you will be in God's own backyard, western Montana, at the best fishing time of the year, on the best fishing rivers with the best of fishing guides...does it get any better than that?!?

My next report will come to you from Headquarters the Monday of the week of E-19's Opening Day...bravo, bravo, bravo!!

Best to all on the doorstep of it all,

Rock Creek Ron
